Examinations are administered on a monthly basis and are by appointment only. In order to reserve your testing position you must complete the initial online application. Once your application is accepted you will be offered your choice of available testing dates via email. If you have not received this email within TWO WEEKS of your application, please contact Det. Applicants ARE NOT REQUIRED to bring a completed background packet in order to be admitted to the test, however upon successfully passing the entrance exam, an applicant will not be processed further until a completed packet is received. The packet is available online via the “Employment Forms” tab on this site. We recommend that you do not wait to fill out this packet. It is a 20+ page comprehensive packet that will take significant time to complete and to obtain the required documents.
Our recruits attend a regional police academy in Loudoun County, VA with sessions beginning every year in January and July. If you wish to be considered for the winter session, it is recommended that you apply and test between April and September. If you would prefer to be considered for the summer session, it is recommended that you apply and test between October and March.
