The documents listed below are considered the “Background Packet.” You MUST fully complete all documents in order to be admitted on your testing date. For those documents which must be sent directly to the Police Department from a third party, the mailing address is:

All forms are in PDF format and require use of Adobe Acrobat 5.0 or higher. The Personal History Statement can be completed within the PDF document and printed for submission at the time of your scheduled written examination. Unless you have the Acrobat writing software, you will be unable to save your completed documents for electronic submission. All of these forms are required to be completed for employment consideration at the Arlington County Police Department after the initial phases of employment selection (for officers: the exam, for civilians: an interview).
